Sardines in a Can
Sometimes life can only be understood backwards.
Based on a true story, Sardines in a Can is a psychological
drama, charting girls from very different backgrounds
seeking a new beginning in a London apartment. In their
search for contentment, the women are instead led down a
journey of haphazard striving, suffering incompleteness,
Steaming from the complex nature of being human and the lack
of a lucid and total system of self-actualization.
Jumping between past and present, Sardines in a Can explores
a wide range of contemporarily relevant subjects, such as
arranged marriage, sex addiction, drug abuse, isolation,
depression and cultural differences in a city where the
past is always a part of its present and where serenity,
friendship and tragedy flows together in harmony.
